This party involved sending a hoarded bead or beads. That meant sending a bead that was special to you, sending something you really loved, giving it to someone you didn’t know, as a gesture of goodwill and in a sort of Pay It Forward. I sent beads to my designated bead swap partner, and she sent me a lot of beads to work with too. We were given about a month to design something pretty with the beads we were given and could use some of our own too if we wanted to.
I received this mixture of beads from my SWAP partner Therese Frank http://theresestreasures59.blogspot.com/.
Here’s the first necklace that I created from her beads and some of mine:
Therese made this cabochon herself … and then did the wire wrapping around it. Quite the talent, wouldn’t you say?
I created this second necklace from her large gift of bead goodness – – –
Therese told me that the great lampwork bead was created by Juli Cannon of Studio Juls. That special clasp was made by Melinda Orr of ORRTEC. I was very pleased with this necklace … plan on wearing it to my husband and my 50th Wedding Anniversary in April this year.
This was my first time participating in Lori Anderson’s Bead Soup Party – and I’m really glad I did. Creating these necklaces really stretched me … I don’t usually work with copper – so that was a first for me. AND making a necklace with randomness was hard. I guess I remade this last necklace 5 or 6 times before I got it like I thought best.
Please take a moment and check out the other participants in the 2017 Bead Soup Party! You don’t need to start at the beginning – just hop around. Be warned – better grab a cup of coffee and settle down for awhile, there are a lot of ’em. You’re gonna love this!

I love the beaded chain you made for the first necklace! It really complements the bottom of the necklace, and I can just tell that it lays perfectly. Beautiful work!

HI Babette,
Wow you created two gorgeous necklaces with the soup I sent to you. You really did a great job on the one with the cabochon pendant I love it. The second necklace is gorgeous and so special that you made it to wear to your 50th wedding anniversary congratulations on your golden anniversary. Thank you for being my partner in this round of the BSBP I had a lot of fun creating with the very special soup you sent to me.
